This policy covers the pakgold.net website and the Pakistan Gold Rate (PakGold) apps for Android and iOS. It explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can delete it. The apps and the website are run by PakGold, Pakistan.
The short version: the rate board works without an account and collects nothing about you personally. If you create an account we store your name, WhatsApp number and a hashed password. The apps also use standard Google services for notifications, ads, usage statistics and crash reports. We never collect your location, contacts, photos or files, and we do not sell your data.
Your consent
By using the website or the apps you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.
Information the apps collect
The Android app asks for only three system permissions: Internet, Notifications and Advertising ID. It does not ask for, and cannot access, your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or SMS.

Rate alerts, portfolio holdings and your dashboard layout are things you enter yourself so the app can do its job; they are stored against your account and deleted with it.
Information the website collects
- Account data: the same name, WhatsApp number and hashed password as the apps, if you create an account on the site.
- Browser notifications: if you turn on web notifications, your browser's push token is stored so we can send rate and news alerts to it.
- Cookies and local storage: your language, theme and dashboard layout, and a sign-in cookie while you are logged in.
- Server logs: standard request logs such as IP address, browser type, page visited and time. We use them to keep the site secure and to stop abuse (for example, limiting repeated failed sign-ins).
- Usage statistics and ads: Google Analytics measures how the site is used, and Google AdSense shows ads. Both may set cookies or read device identifiers; see "Who we share data with" below.
- Shop listings: if you list a shop in our dealer directory, the shop name, city, market, address, phone and WhatsApp number you submit are meant to be published publicly on the site once approved.
- When you contact us: your name, contact details and the content of your message.
How we use your information
- Create and run your account, sign you in, and keep it secure
- Send the notifications you asked for (rate alerts, big market moves, news)
- Show ads in the apps and on the website, which keep the service free
- Understand which features are used and fix crashes and errors, so we can improve the apps
- Manage premium subscriptions and answer support requests
- Detect and prevent fraud and abuse
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for any purpose other than those listed here.
Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers needed to run the apps and the website, all of them Google services, and only for the purposes above:
- Google AdMob (apps) and Google AdSense (website): advertising ID, cookies and device information, to show and measure ads.
- Firebase Analytics (apps) and Google Analytics (website): app and site interactions.
- Firebase Crashlytics (apps): crash logs.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (apps and website): device push tokens, to deliver notifications.
Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can turn off ad personalisation in your device or Google account settings, and you can reset your advertising ID from your device settings at any time. We do not share your name, WhatsApp number or password with anyone.
Security
All data between the apps, the website and our servers travels over HTTPS (encrypted in transit). Passwords are stored only as a salted hash. On your phone, the app keeps your sign-in token in the operating system's encrypted secure storage. Access to the database is limited to the people who operate the service.
How long we keep data
- Account data (name, WhatsApp number, password hash, alerts, portfolio, preferences, device tokens): for as long as your account exists. It is removed as soon as you delete your account, as described below.
- Premium subscription records: the plan, dates, amount and payment method are kept for accounting after an account is deleted, but they carry no name, number or password and are linked only to a numeric account ID.
- Server logs: kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
- Analytics, ads and crash data held by Google: kept for the retention periods set in those services, and never linked to your account by us.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account yourself at any time, without contacting us:
- In the app: open Account and tap Delete account.
- On the website: sign in and open www.pakgold.net/v2/account/delete.
Deletion takes effect immediately. Your rate alerts and registered devices are deleted, so notifications stop; your name, WhatsApp number and password are permanently scrubbed from the account record; your preferences are deleted; and the account can no longer be used to sign in. Only the premium subscription records described above are kept, without any personal details. You can also ask us to delete your account by email or WhatsApp using the contact details below.
To stop notifications without deleting your account, turn them off in the app's settings or in your device's notification settings.
Rate data
The gold, silver, currency and crypto rates we publish are market data, not personal data. You can read where those numbers come from on the live rate board and in our FAQ.
Third-party links
This policy does not cover third-party websites or advertisers we link to or that serve ads on our pages. Please read their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or delete it using the steps above.
GDPR (European Union / UK). You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Contact us to exercise any of these.
CCPA (California). You have the right to know what personal information we hold, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.
Children's privacy
The apps and the website are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect as soon as they are published on this page, and the "last updated" date above changes with them.
