Petrol, Diesel Prices Up in Pakistan Amid Global Oil Volatility
Pakistan's government has raised petrol prices by Rs3.66 to Rs335.18/litre and HSD by Rs4.80 to Rs383.46/litre, attributing the hike to fluctuating global oil prices and renewed Persian Gulf hostilities. Fuel prices will now be fixed daily by OGRA, a decision opposed by the All Pakistan Dealers Association. This increase is likely to exacerbate domestic inflation, potentially weakening the Pakistani Rupee and boosting gold's appeal as a safe-haven asset.

حکومت نے پیٹرول کی قیمت 3.66 روپے بڑھا کر 335.18 روپے فی لیٹر اور ہائی سپیڈ ڈیزل کی قیمت 4.80 روپے بڑھا کر 383.46 روپے فی لیٹر کر دی ہے۔ اس اضافے کی وجہ عالمی تیل کی قیمتوں میں اتار چڑھاؤ اور خلیج فارس میں نئی کشیدگی بتائی گئی ہے۔ اب اوگرا روزانہ کی بنیاد پر ایندھن کی قیمتیں مقرر کرے گا، جس فیصلے کو ڈیلرز ایسوسی ایشن نے مسترد کر دیا ہے۔ یہ اضافہ ملکی مہنگائی میں مزید شدت لا سکتا ہے، جس سے پاکستانی روپے پر دباؤ بڑھنے اور سونے کی بطور مہنگائی سے بچاؤ کے اثاثے کی مانگ میں اضافہ ہونے کا امکان ہے۔
