Pakistan aims to boost horticulture exports, strengthen economy
Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan has called for accelerating value-addition, modern processing, and export-oriented interventions to strengthen Pakistan’s horticulture sector. The Pakistan Horticulture Development & Export Company (PHDEC) is tasked with expanding initiatives like fruit bagging and freeze-drying to boost exports and farmer incomes. The government emphasizes export-led growth, with EXIM Bank support for small-scale processors and enhanced participation in FoodAg exhibitions. This focus on increasing foreign exchange earnings could support the Pakistani Rupee and contribute to overall economic stability, potentially influencing local gold and currency rates.

وفاقی وزیر تجارت جام کمال خان نے پاکستان کے باغبانی کے شعبے کو مضبوط بنانے کے لیے ویلیو ایڈیشن، جدید پروسیسنگ اور برآمدات پر مبنی اقدامات کو تیز کرنے کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔ پاکستان ہارٹیکلچر ڈویلپمنٹ اینڈ ایکسپورٹ کمپنی (PHDEC) کو پھلوں کی بیگنگ اور فریز ڈرائنگ جیسے اقدامات کو وسعت دے کر برآمدات اور کسانوں کی آمدنی بڑھانے کا کام سونپا گیا ہے۔ حکومت برآمدات پر مبنی ترقی پر زور دے رہی ہے، جس میں چھوٹے پیمانے کے پروسیسرز کے لیے EXIM بینک کی حمایت اور FoodAg نمائشوں میں شرکت میں اضافہ شامل ہے۔ غیر ملکی زرمبادلہ کی آمدنی میں اضافے پر یہ توجہ پاکستانی روپے کو سہارا دے سکتی ہے اور مجموعی اقتصادی استحکام میں معاون ثابت ہو سکتی ہے، جس سے مقامی سونے اور کرنسی کی شرح پر ممکنہ طور پر اثر پڑ سکتا ہے۔
