Transporters Threaten Protests Over Fuel Hikes, Warn of Economic Strain
The All Pakistan Goods Transporters’ Alliance has threatened nationwide protests over repeated petroleum price increases, noting a Rs23/litre diesel and Rs25/litre petrol hike in 18 days. President Malik Shehzad Awan stated that higher fuel costs are directly increasing transportation expenses, putting upward pressure on essential commodity prices and straining the wider economy. He urged the petroleum minister to reconsider policy and honor past agreements made during previous strikes. آل پاکستان گڈز ٹرانسپورٹرز الائنس نے پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتوں میں بار بار اضافے پر ملک گیر احتجاج کی دھمکی دی ہے، گزشتہ 18 دنوں میں ڈیزل 23 روپے اور پیٹرول 25 روپے فی لیٹر مہنگا ہوا۔ صدر ملک شہزاد اعوان نے کہا کہ ایندھن کی بڑھتی قیمتیں ٹرانسپورٹ کے اخراجات اور ضروری اشیاء کی قیمتوں میں اضافہ کر رہی ہیں، جس سے وسیع تر معیشت پر دباؤ بڑھ رہا ہے۔ انہوں نے وزیر پیٹرولیم سے پالیسی پر نظر ثانی اور سابقہ معاہدوں کا احترام کرنے کا مطالبہ کیا۔ ممکنہ ملک گیر احتجاج سپلائی چین کو متاثر کر سکتا ہے، مزید مہنگائی کو بڑھا سکتا ہے اور پاکستانی روپے پر دباؤ ڈال سکتا ہے، جس سے مقامی سونے کی طلب میں اضافہ ہو سکتا ہے۔
