Pakistan Senate Panel to Address Chemicals & Dyes Sector Issues

Senator Saleem Mandviwalla assured the Pakistan Chemicals & Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA) that the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue will take up critical issues including taxation, import/export facilitation, and e-invoicing. The committee plans to invite FBR and Ministry of Finance officials to discuss concerns, including the misuse of the Export Facilitation Scheme (EFS) and a 3% additional sales tax. PCDMA highlighted that EFS imports increased significantly without corresponding exports, impacting the supply chain for key export-oriented industries. The government must balance fiscal targets and IMF commitments, which could influence broader economic stability and the PKR.
