Impact on Gold China Yuan Firms on Exports, Inflation; Dollar Softens Ahead of US CPI
China's yuan strengthened to near a 3-1/2-year high against the US dollar, buoyed by better-than-expected inflation data and robust export growth. The dollar softened globally, with its six-currency index at 98.77, as traders anticipate US inflation data to gauge the Federal Reserve's rate path.
